Use Sabine equation: RT60 = 0.161 x V/A to calculate total required absorption for the target RT60. Distribute baffles uniformly across the ceiling field for best diffusion.
Structural coordination: Provide anchor pull-out test load calculation to structural engineer. For concrete slab: 12 mm expansion anchor minimum. For steel beam: specify drop-rod clamp or beam clamp. For timber joist: specify direct screw anchor with 4x safety factor on load rating.
Mosque application: For mosque prayer halls with marble floors, concrete dome ceilings, and plaster walls, target RT60 of 0.8-1.2 seconds at 1kHz (per ANSI S12.60 speech intelligibility guidance adapted for Arabic). Combine ceiling baffles with wall absorption panels for best results.
Industrial application: For industrial noise control targets per Saudi Ministerial Decision No. 17 (Occupational Health and Safety), specify baffle coverage to achieve AL of 3-6 dB(A) as a supplementary measure alongside engineering noise controls at source.
